National Book Award nominee Dan Chaon has this to say about former MFA and HEAF Fellow Emma Straub's Fly-Over State, published by and available from Flatmancrooked:

"Emma Straub is a wry, witty, incisively observant writer and I was charmed from the first page to the last. Fly-Over State is a smart and memorable story that I will cherish, a great inaugural to a literary career that is full of promise."

If you're in NYC, Emma will be reading from Fly-Over State on Friday, September 25, at BookCourt Bookstore, 163 Court St., Brooklyn, NY, at 7pm. More info can be found on the Flatmancrooked site. For instance, it appears there will also be thumb-wrestling.

  1. Okay, fine, there might not be thumb-wrestling, but there will be hugging, that much I can promise. This new blog looks FABULOUS.
