Of Books and Babies and Poets

Happy news from two of our former MFA poets:

First, warmest congratulations to Rita Mae Reese (poetry MFA '05), her wife Elizabeth Perry, and their adorable daughter Charlotte on the birth of daughter number two, Maxine Reese Perry. Rita Mae and Maxine are both doing great and everyone is happy, including her UW-Madison family.

And some great news from James Crews (poetry MFA '07). James currently has two chapbooks hot off the presses and now for sale: One Hundred Small Yellow Envelopes based on the life and work of Felix Gonzalez-Torres published by Parallel Press in Madison and Bending the Knot, which won the 2008 Gertrude Press Poetry Chapbook Prize. And stay tuned for the third chapbook, What Has Not Yet Left, which just won the 2009 Copperdome Chapbook Prize from Southeastern Missouri State University Press and is due out in a few months.

Copies of James' first two chapbooks can be purchased directly from him. Write him at jcrewsjr@gmail.com
