Kelly Cherry reads Sunday, 4/17


This coming Sunday, April 17th, Kelly Cherry will give a reading at 2:00 pm at the Pyle Center, presented by Emily Auerbach.

KELLY CHERRY is the author of nineteen books of fiction (novels and short stories), poetry, and nonfiction (memoir, essay, and criticism), eight chapbooks, and translations of two classical plays. Her most recent titles include The Retreats of Thought: Poems and Girl in a Library: On Women Writers and the Writing Life. Among her many awards are fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bradley Major Achievement (Lifetime) Award, and selection as a Wisconsin Notable Author. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and taught at UW-Madison from 1977-1999 as the Eudora Welty Professor Emerita of English.
