Fall 2010 Readings

For those of you without the pleasure of walking past the creative writing suite daily, here's a miniature glimpse of what the Fall 2010 Readings schedule looks like.


CURRENTLY at Mitchell Theater: Across a Distance, written by Nick Lantz. The show runs through this Monday (9/25). Visit utmadison.com for ticket information.

READINGS BY DATE

  • October 14th, 4:30 pm / Memorial Library Room 126. Friends of the Library presents a session with creative writing faculty Judith Claire Mitchell.
  • October 28th, 7:30 pm / Gates of Heaven Synagogue, 302 E Gorham. The first BLUE OX READING of the semester features current poetry MFAs Brittany Cavallaro, Josh Kalscheur, and Nancy Reddy.
  • November 11th, 7:00 pm / Helen C. White Room 6191. The Creative Writing Department presents Terrance Hays.
  • November 12th, 7:30 pm / The Project Lodge. Monsters of Poetry presents Ron Kuka, Blueberry Morningsnow, Dan Poppick, and Mark Rahe.
  • November 18th, 7:30 pm / Gates of Heaven Synagogue, 302 E. Gorham. The second and final BLUE OX READING of the semester features current poetry MFAs Louisa Diodato, Jacques Rancourt, and Kai Carlson-Wee.
  • December 2nd, t.b.d. The Creative Writing Deparment presents Ethan Canin.

  • September 30th, 5:30 pm / A Room of One's Own Bookstore. Gina Frangello and Chris Mazza.
  • October 1st, 8:00 pm / The Barrymore Theater. Danielle Evans, Lan Samantha Chang, Susanna Daniel, and Gary Shteyngart.
  • October 2nd, 12:30 pm / MATC Downtown. Young writers discuss breakout books with Devil's Lake, featuring Nancy Reddy, Susanna Daniel, Erinn Batykefer, Rita Mae Reese, and Michelle Wildgen.
  • October 2nd, 8:30 pm / Promenade Hall, Overture Center. UW Creative Writing and the Monsters of Poetry present a reading by Dean Young and Lauren Groff.
