Monsters Present Monson and Lantz and Sheehan


The Monsters of Poetry are presenting another reading on Thursday, July 15, 7:30 pm at Project Lodge. Info about the reading here.

The readers are Ander Monson; our former MFA student and Institute Halls Poetry Fellow, Nick Lantz; and our former Institute Fiction Fellow, Michael Sheehan.

Here are their bios:

ANDER MONSON is the author of two books of poetry, Vacationland (Tupelo Press 2005), & The Available World (Sarabande 2010); two books of essays, Neck Deep & Other Predicaments (Graywolf 2007) & Vanishing Point: Not a Memoir (Graywolf, 2010); the story collection Other Electricities (Sarabande 2005); & a host of paraphernalia including a decoder wheel, several chapbooks and limited edition letterpress collaborations, & a website . He lives & teaches in Tucson, Arizona, where he edits the magazine DIAGRAM & the New Michigan Press.


NICK LANTZ is the author of two books of poetry, We Don't Know We Don't Know (Graywolf Press), & The Lightning That Strikes the Neighbors' House (University of Wisconsin Press). He was a 2007-2008 Jay C. & Ruth Halls Poetry Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, & he is the 2010-2011 Emerging Writer Lecturer at Gettysburg College. He posts daily micropoems on Twitter @NickJLantz.


MICHAEL SHEEHAN is a recent graduate of the University of Arizona’s MFA program & a former fellow of the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. While at Arizona, Michael was Editor-in-Chief of Sonora Review, where he edited a tribute to the work of David Foster Wallace. He is an Assistant Fiction Editor for DIAGRAM magazine. His fiction has recently appeared in DIAGRAM and Conjunctions.
